Janet is the firms founder and has worked in both Legal Aid and Private client work since qualifying as a solicitor in 1991. After becoming a Partner in a Central London firm just 3 years after qualifying she then moved on to establish Irving and Co Solicitors in 1995. In addition to seeing clients, Janet manages all administrative, financial and regulatory matters for the Company. She is the Solicitors Regulation Authority nominated Compliance Officer for Legal Practice, Finance and Administration as well as the Company’s Training Principle, Complaint Handler, Audit Officer and Data Protection Officer.

Rachel qualified in 1997 and became a Partner in Irving and Co in 1999. She has worked in both Legal Aid and Private client work and spent 15 years as a Judge in the Immigration Appellate Authority. She is one of the few Immigration practitioners accredited to Level 3 [advanced] as well as being an accredited Supervisor. Rachel deals with private client work . She has particular expertise in dealing with complex work in the Higher Courts and has dealt with a number of high profile cases in the Court of Appeal and the ECHR that have had far reaching effects in the interpretation of Immigration Law in practice [see our notable cases section]. Rachel is held in the highest esteem by client’s and peers alike.
